The purpose of Procredit holding is to invest, mainly through direct equity, in microfinance institutions (MFIs) in developing countries and economies in transition.

    Procredit invests in local microfinance institutions, which provide small local entrepreneurs with a stable and relatively cheap source of finance. The target sector is small and micro enterprises (maximum 10 employees). MFIs also offer other financial services to the local low-income population, such as the possibility to make national and international payments.
