Rajasthan Sun Technique Energy Private Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Reliance Power Ltd, is constructing a 100MW Concentrated Solar Power plant in the State of Rajasthan in India, approximately 26km from the nearest major town of Pokaran. The project location is ideal for solar power due to its extended periods of cloudless days and the area has the highest level of direct sun radiation in India.
This project has been awarded under Phase I (650MW) of the National Solar Mission, an initiative of the Government of India and State Governments to promote ecologically sustainable growth while addressing India’s energy security challenges. BIO’s funds will be used for a part of the project cost. The project site provides access to road network, to water for the steamcycle and cooling and to a transmission line for power evacuation.
100% of the electricity will be sold under a 25 years PPA to the regional subsidiary of the largest power generating company in India (85% publicly owned).
